With a career spanning almost 20 years, Rodney has worked for media outlets in Ireland and the UK, including the Sunday Independent, Irish Times, Bloomberg and others. In 2020, he won an Amnesty International award for his investigation into child sexual abuse in Fermanagh. He is interested in exploring social injustices and human rights issues.

A remark by Ulster Unionist Councillor Victor Warrington has been described as "offensive", "ignorant", "misogynistic" and "chauvinistic" after he appeared to endorse the banning of the burqa.
