Fermanagh residents should be aware that snow showers and icy stretches may cause some disruption as the Met Office issues a yellow weather warning for snow and ice.

The weather warning is currently in place until noon tomorrow (Tuesday, January 17) as Fermanagh and areas across Northern Ireland are experiencing a cold snap, with temperatures dropping to as low as -5C (feeling like -7).

Outlining what to expect, a Met Office spokesperson said that some roads and railways are likely to be affected, with longer journey times expected by road, bus and train services.

Also, there may be some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces, and people should be wary of some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.
