Two businesses linked to 'Clones Cyclone' Barry McGuigan have been placed into liquidation.

The announcement came on Tuesday evening following a meeting held in London of the creditors of the family gym and boxing company.

A spokesperson for insolvency practitioner Antony Batty & Company LLP confirmed both of the businesses had been placed into liquidation following the meeting.

"I can confirm that McGuigan’s Gym Ltd and Cyclone Promotions Ltd were placed into Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidation today (January 2) and Hugh Francis Jesseman of Antony Batty & Company LLP was appointed as Liquidator,” they said.

A notice was published in the Belfast Telegraph for McGuigans Gym Limited and Cyclone Promotions Limited.

Both notices were signed off by Sandra McGuigan, wife of Mr. McGuigan, who is the only remaining director named and listed. Former directors of the businesses include members of the McGuigan family with son Shane McGuigan a director of McGuigan’s Gym until April 15 2021. Brothers Jake and Blane werre also involved with Cyclone Promotions until the same date.

Neither company has filed accounts with Companies House in several years with the last accounts filled covering the period of 2018 to 2019.
