50 employees of a leading community manufacturer has raised thousands of pounds for a repatriation charity in memory of a former colleague who died last year.

Mannok was handed over a cheque for £6,400 to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust following its final fundraising event in honour of team member Aran Sheridan.

Mr. Sheridan, a member of the company's precast team, died while on holiday in Spain in May 2023.

Four charity events were held to commemorate Mr. Sheridan, with 50 staff members participating in the Aran Sheridan Memorial Walk along the Cuilcagh Boardwalk Trail on Saturday, February 24.

The employees were joined on the walk by Mr. Sheridan's family, friends, and members of his cycling club, Omagh Wheelers.

The previous fundraisers included two casual dress days in December and a Christmas Jumper Day.

The charity events cumulatively raised £6,400 for the trust which supported the return the body of Mr. Sheridan, a Tempo native and avid cyclist, from Spain.

Upon completion of the walk the participants reconvened at the Mannok Innovation Academy where food and drinks were served.

A cheque was subsequently handed over to Colin Bell of the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust.

The Memorial Walk was purposefully held in February as it coincided with Mr. Sheridan’s five-year anniversary with the company.

Thomas Coyle, general manager of Mannok Precast, said: "We hope, in some way, the fundraisers organised illustrated the impact that Aran had on us, his colleagues, and on the company during his time at Mannok and how highly regarded he was.

"We were also very motivated to support a valuable charity, which we all hope we never need, but we are incredibly grateful to, the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust, for helping bring our friend and many other Irish people home to rest."

The fundraising events were a testament to the impact Mr. Sheridan had on his colleagues and his presence in the company.
