Scoring a major victory, Mannok clinched the Operational Excellence award at the first-ever Manufacturing Excellence Awards 2024.

Held at the Radisson Blu in Dublin, the award recognises accomplishments in the manufacturing sector.

The Operational Excellence Award was open to any manufacturer in Ireland that used operational excellence to ensure processing and manufacturing efficiency and excellence over the past year and a half.

Mannok's submission detailed its Leading Excellence Programme, centred around achieving the highest operational standards across the business through teamwork, problem-solving, innovation, and leadership.

The firm faced a tough battle against major companies like Boston Scientific, Janssen Sciences, Sanofi, Ventac, Viatris and WuXi Biologics to secure the honour.

Host Colm O’Regan, who presented the award to Catriona McGorman, continuous improvement practitioner at Mannok, said: "Mannok wins the Operational Excellence award because of their strategic and innovative initiatives which have yielded impressive results.

"They have struck a chord with our panel for their focus on customer satisfaction and commercial growth."

Mannok was also shortlisted for another category, the Energy Achievement Award.

Here, Mannok laid out plans to take action and set targets to protect the environment while preserving and enhancing biodiversity.

Kevin Lunney, Chief Operating Officer at Mannok, said: “We are delighted to have won this prestigious award at the inaugural Manufacturing Excellence Awards.

"I would like to congratulate the Operational Excellence team, and the wider Mannok team on this achievement.

"I would also like to congratulate the Energy team on being shortlisted as finalists which is also wonderful recognition.

“We are very proud to have the company recognised with some of the most successful businesses across the country.”

Driving innovation, operational excellence, and industry advancement, the Manufacturing Excellence Awards intend to redefine benchmarks and inspire radical transformation.
