Maguiresbridge 0-16 Roslea 5-13

It was game over after 15 minutes played on Sunday afternoon as the Shamrock’s powered into a lead they never relinquished.
The home side enjoyed the perfect start, after they won possession from the throw-in, worked the ball up the field and Michéal Jordan was on hand to put it in the net.
Roslea tagged on ten points before the break with Sean and Seamus Quigley both registering scores as well as Brendan Sherlock, Peter Lynch and Cathal Lynam all helping Roslea to put the game out of sight.
The standard of football dipped somewhat after Roslea went into cruise control mode.
Maguiresbridge did kick five points in the first half, Sean Corrigan (3, 2f), Matthew Teague and Mark Gavin all landing scores to leave eight points in it at half time.
In the second half, Roslea began to pick holes in the Maguiresbridge defence and they broke through on four occasions.
Niall Clerkin, Sean and Seamus Quigley all finding the net, beating Colm Rice too easily in goals.
The home side kept chipping away at Roslea’s lead with points from Daniel Teague (6), Sean Corrigan (3), Matthew Teague and Andrew Breslin. Roslea introduced a number of subs in the second half as they coasted to a convincing victory.
Roslea Manager, Brian Gormley said:
“The game was over after 15 minutes, then the boys became disinterested and careless and mistakes crept in.
“ It’s nice to be winning but there’s plenty of room for improvement. Our two eyes are on the championship now, it’s going to be a tough battle against Donagh.”
MaguiresbridgeManager, Niall Jackman said: “We conceded soft goals and that has been a disappointing feature of our play all year. There has been a lot of chopping and changing of goal keepers because we’ve lost two keepers in two years, Fergal Hanna and Marty McCann. Colm (Rice) is a handy outfield player but he’s playing in goals for his first year and it’s a bit of a developmental position.
“Leaking goals is something we need to improve on for the championship.”
